Paint Correction
What is Paint Correction?
Paint correction is a process that restores the finish of a vehicle’s paintwork to a like-new or improved condition. It involves several steps, including:
Assessment: The first step is to assess the condition of the vehicle’s paint, looking for imperfections such as swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, and other defects.
Cleaning: The vehicle is thoroughly cleaned to remove dirt, grime, and contaminants from the paint surface.
Paint Decontamination: Decontamination can involve using a clay bar and specialized chemicals to remove embedded contaminants like tar, tree sap, or industrial fallout.
Polishing: This is the core of paint correction. An abrasive polish is used to remove a thin layer of the clear coat, effectively eliminating or reducing imperfections. We select an appropriate level of abrasive polish based on each individual’s needs.
Compounding: For more severe defects, a heavier cutting compound may be used before polishing to remove deeper imperfections.
Wet Sanding: For some deeper scratches, etchings and other imperfections wet sanding is the most effective method of correction. It sounds a bit scary, but if properly trained, in some cases its even safer than polishing. We were trained by an instructor with over 40 years of experience.
Protection: It’s important to protect the newly corrected paint. A wax or sealant can be used, but a ceramic coating is the strongest and longest lasting form or protection

How Much Does Paint Correction Cost?
There are a few factors that determine the price:
-
- The size of the vehicle
- The condition of the paint
- Most importantly, what do you want done?
We can give an idea of what we think it’ll cost over the phone, but we’ll have to take a look in person in order to give you a firm price. We’re happy to come out and do that free of charge. Also if, for example, we recommend a two stage correction, but you feel more comfortable paying for a single stage correction, then we do a single stage correction. We’d like to make your vehicle look as close to perfect as possible, but our #1 goal is to make you happy:)
All of that being said here are some average prices for paint correction:
Sedan: 300
Small SUV: $400-$500
Large Vehicles: $600+
Just like with ceramic coatings we recommend giving us a call so we can figure out what best suits your needs.
